This was some of the worst Thai food I have ever had. Do not believe the high rating. Order from Obao or Benny's. This place was just a waste of too much money!
Posted a week ago by Geraldine h.
Not sure how this place got so many positive reviews. It was not based on the pad thai I can tell you that much. I read a few of the bad pad thai reviews and went ahead any way...my mistake.
it's pretty awful. Kind of bland. Everything was over cooked. They give you a lot of add in options, the aspagras over cooked and weird, bell peppers were soft mushy green bell peppers, broccoli over cooked, spinach slimy and over cooked.
The Rice noodles, over cooked and fell apart. It was kind of soupy, in a bad way.
My first time seamless order from them, will not return.
Don't always trust the masses! : )

this place was SPEEDY.... we're talking under 12 minutes on a Sunday night. Food was fresh and delicious-- we got the green curry and the pad thai. Both were great! Food, price and service can't be beat

The red curry was great, fast delivery.... However, since the delivery guy has been leaving restaurant menus under everyone's door within my apartment building, building management have banned them from delivering food to directly to my door. PLEASE 22 Thai Cuisine - STOP leaving junk mail! I love ordering from this restaurant, but not if I have to go downstairs to pick up my food.

This is the best Thai food I have found in the financial district (which is not saying much if you have the ability to get real Thai food from Hells Kitchen or Queens). But it does the job better than any other alternatives down here. My favorite dishes here are the pineapple fried rice and the chicken with Cashew nuts.

Terrible. I'll never order here ever again.
The noodles were disgusting and under cooked.
The food overall was bland.
I asked for broccoli and got one broccoli stem.
The food arrived wayyy later than estimated and as a result the food was luke warm.
When I opened my bag, my soup had spilled out and drenched all the contents in the bag.

I have never written a review before, but these red peppers are the hottest I have ever had. Major burning sensation on my tongue. I have been running my tongue under cold water for 5 minutes already. Had to have some ice cream to take the heat away.
Average food to top it off.

i haven't even tried the food yet, but my delivery person made it VERY clear that he did not approve of the tip (15%).
in short - he took the receipt off of the bag, asked me if this was really his tip, then threw the receipt on the ground and walked out.
this will be my last time ordering from 22 Thai!

The food that we DID order was very good - the coconut chicken soup perfectly spicy and savory, the curry puffs the best I have ever had. Really. So we were really looking forward to trying the entree - Massaman chicken curry. But instead, the dish was a mix of Thai curry - baby corn, bell peppers, string bean and mushrooms, AND lots of tofu (which we do not like and definitely did not order), with some peanuts thrown in for a good measure (as a nod to the Massaman curry, maybe?) Granted, in addition to tofu they did serve the chicken, but it just made the whole dish even more confusing. The kitchen must have mixed orders up, but at least we are better off than a poor soul who got zero protein and an odd mix of vegetables (his fuming review is probably coming up any minute.) I was very tempted to give 22 Thai only three starts, but the food we did ask for was worth five, so I am taking only one star off. Hopefully next time we'll get a chance to try what we ask for.

Quite possibly the worst Thai I've had in Manhattan. Blend tasteless , and generally gross. No sauce on the noodles , satay was nasty, just a poor experience.

Terrible! More than an hour and a half later, I had to call to find out where my food is only to find out it was en route for 45 min and is probably cold. They offered to make new, fresh food but delivery time was still uncertain. At the very least they could have called or offer free food.

I order from 22 Thai Cuisine all the time, specifically, the Thai Pineapple fried rice with the cucumber salad. I love it. The portion is so big it lasts me two nights and even then there is so much left over. Plus, they deliver really quickly.

I'm obssessed with Pad Thai and Panang Curry - I can't get enough of it. So I discovered this restaurant on my way to Century 21 a few years ago and I've been a customer since; the food is good and meets my basic requirements. The delivery is on point and I usually get a good portion size. Well, all that changed today - they knocked the portion size down and the delivery guy acted like I didn't tip him - which I did. So hence my rating of 1 - there's a Thai truck that parks right outside of my building and I never go there but when I have a Thai fix during lunch time, I'll be patronizing them in the future. These restaurants act like everyone works on Wall Street and pulling down these enormous bonuses - NOT. I'm not paying $15.00 for pad thai from 22 Thai Cuisine anymore, it's just not that good and the portion size went on a diet.

Food is good but the delivery service is TERRIBLE...
Yesterday I ordered lunch to be delivered. An half an hour later (on time) I received a call from the restaurant saying, that the delivery guy was outside. I was unsure why the delivery guy wouldnt come inside, but never the less I told my manager I was going on lunch...Unfortunately I didn't get my food until FORTY FIVE minutes later... the delivery guy wasn't outside. The restaurant and I went back in forth callig each other to figure out what was going on. They told me the food was with the door man down stairs, however I work in a one floor building with no door man... Time ran up on my lunch; by the time the delivery man realized his error, my food wasn't hot anymore, my thai tea spilled in the bag..overall a FRUSTRATING experience.

really greasy bad pad thai. its premade in a goop of oil or something, because it gets delivered really fast. I think most of their food is premade, but definitely way too greasy. I've had much better at a bunch of other thai places in nyc

Absolutely abysmal. I wish I'd read these reviews first. I only ordered from them because it promised 20-30 min delivery. Instead, it took nearly two hours. The food - 4 pad thais - was absolutely disgusting. Completely inedible and we threw the whole lot away. The staff were rude on the phone and the delivery guy offered no apology or explanation. Avoid at all costs.

Awful. Unusably bad. Impossible to search within a menu. Adding an item to your cart resets the menu so that you lose your place and have to start over in order to add the next item. Inexplicable use of unnecessarily narrow column layout makes it even harder to tell what is going on. Uninstalled. Just use the Web site.

I ordered pork thai garlic sauce, fried tofu, fried calamari, chicken basil friend rice and chicken coconut soup. The pork thai garlic sauce came but was chicken instead of pork (chicken had a weird slimy texture), the chicken fried rice came with a very strong smell of burnt although it didnt look burnt, but i tasted and it tasted as if the bottom pot had totally burnt and they just figured we wouldnt notice! anyways i called the lady was nice and sent another one, it came, tasted mediocre but instead of chicken it was now tofu fried rice! the fried tofu and fried calamari was soooo bad that we threw it away, tasted as if they had used an oil that was refried a thousand times. Well and the chicken coconut soup the broth was pretty good, but then again their chicken looked weird and tasted weird. Bottom line i would never eat from this place again, even if they sent free food! whomever is cooking their food should never be allowed near a kitchen, the lady that picks up the phone was nice and polite when i called.. but then again i'm paying for food and not for someone who's nice!

I ordered the Panang Curry Lunch Special . I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this order was extremely awful. It took over an hour for the food to arrive, I ordered extra chicken ($3 more) and there still wasn't much chicken and it tasted rubbery. The "hot and spicy, rich thick, red curry" was watery and flavorless. I'm not a picky eater and this is my first negative review. I ended up throwing most of it away and will never order from them again.

Ordered the Panang curry shrimp lunch special. Arrived withing 15-20 min of placing the order. The food was hot and neatly separated (soup, rice, panang shrimp in separate containers , each tightly sealed). I've had better shrimp before but the sauce was DELICIOUS!! Just spicy enough with a decent amount of shrimp and veggies. The white rice was fine..it's white rice. I will Definitely be ordering panang something from here again. The Delivery guy was pretty rude when I wasn't standing outside in the snow awaiting his arrival, but I'll live.

WOW. Best Chicken Pai Thai I have ever had..... and I travel around the world for a living, so I have had my fair share of Thai Cuisine in different parts of the world. I order from this restaurant maybe 3 times a week, because I know it is always a sure bet that the food will be great quality.
The food always comes hot, on time and in HUGE portions! Nothing to complain about this restaurant. Honestly, they are the best.

The pad thai was mushy and did not taste good at all. The delivery took 2 hours, and several phone calls to the establishment. The women at Thai Cuisine kept insisting that the delivery boys were lying and claiming that the food had already been delivered. Eventually the food came and it was cold and also just bad quality. Save yourself the trouble and drama and do not order from here.

pad thai did not taste good. not authentic. delivery guy told me off for not entering my apartment number in the order. However, there's a concierge in my building, so it really doesnt matter whether my apartment number was there or not. The concierge goes by name.

They have no idea how to make drunken noodles (Mao.) It was sweet and noodles mushy! One bite and we were done. Tom yum soup was extremely bland until I added seasoning. Pad Thai also very bland with barely any sauce. I ended up making a peanut butter and fish sauce dressing of my own just to salvage some of the meal. Waste of money. Steer clear!

I love this place. It's small, but the people are friendly and fast. Delivery is fast, preparation is fast--and the food is good. Pad Kee Mao (mild) is great, but also their sweet and sour thai style lunch special is good. (They say the lunch special comes with clear chicken broth, but it's really white (or brown) rice + chicken broth + spinach + what appears to be bits of tofu in the broth. It's excellent. The basil string bean option, also from the lunch special section is equally excellent. The five stars is for the food, but also for the service. They are consistently friendly and fast, and that's worth points in my book, aside from the food.

My coworker and I order from here at least once a week, and the pad thai is absolutely delicious!
In terms of service: Delivery is SO quick. I thought that perhaps the restaurant was very close to me, but it's not nearly as close as I thought, so the delivery time is impressive.
Also, 22 Thai Cuisine is AWESOME at reading and following comments, should you choose to write any in the box. They always give me exactly what I've asked for, and the delivery guy is always friendly and courteous.

I made the mistake of ordering from Seamless instead of my local Thai place that isn't on the site. I think this place is owned by the same people as the other awful Thai place on Seamless -- Thai Lemongrass. Both delivered oversized, hopelessly bland dishes. The coconut soup had no lemongrass, the fried tofu came with a weird vinegary sauce, and the pad see ew was basically fried noodles with some broccoli thrown in. Barely any sauce or seasoning. Never going to order thai on Seamless again, unless they add many more options for my area.

Order a Pad Thai on Seamless from these guys, arrived less than 10 minutes after placed. Barley any sauce, dry, cold, vegetables not cooked. Sloppy. These people operating the place should choose a different line of profession. Plenty of better Thai places around. Recommendation: Bennie’s Thai Café.

the worst pad kee mao i've ever had in my life! i ordered it with chicken and there were 3 tiny pieces of chicken in it. the noodles were soggy, cold, and bland. they were really generous on the raw onions though - that's all i got for veggies with 2 pieces of tomatoes. i ate half of it because i was very hungry. another half goes straight into a trash can.

If you're a Thai restaurant, and you choose to do only ONE thing right, shouldn't that one thing be Pad Thai? This place missed the memo. Gooey noodles, greasy chicken. The clear soup broth and the coconut soup broth was nice, but again with the greasy chicken. Stick with Bennie's.

I recently ordered 22 thai because my go to thai spot was no longer delivering. While the delivery took as long as they said it would, I was underwhelmed with the product itself. I thought their noodle dishes were just lacking the texture and flavor of your typical NYC thai restaurant. Their spring rolls were OK, but it's hard to mess up a spring roll.
Overall I would recommend getting thai from somewhere else, although I can only really speak to their noodle based dishes.

I have only had the pad see ew here and its pretty decent. The clear chicken soup they give with the lunch special is basically hot water w/ scallions in it. They deliver quickly though and is a nice thai option for where I am on Broad St - not many more in the area that would come this quick.

Given the limited selection in the area, I've yet to find a better option to satisfy the occasional Thai craving. The lunch specials are certainly worthwhile, and the apps are definitely worth ordering as well, that is, if your appettite happens to be above-average that day.

Brown rice, extra dollar, two sets of chopsticks, extra 50 cents, no tofu but extra vegetables (I'm a vegetarian) extra 3 dollars! I had a discount code for one order and they made me pay them the discount in cash!! $1.93 - not a long but still the principle! Will never order again!

The food is great but the delivery person has no idea how to enter a NYC apartment building. He called on the phone outside and his english was so poor i could not understand what was being said. I called the restaurant for help but their line was busy. Eventually the restaurant called me and I had to explain how the delivery person needs to push my apartment number to be buzzed in. They suggested I go downstairs and meet him. This was completely frustrating and i might as well just ordered from the restaurant and walked to pick it up by this point. 4.5 rating for the food, but a complete hassle for delivery.

Ridiculously fast delivery. The food arrived hot and in 10 minutes. I had the pad see ew and a lychee drink. The pad see ew uses real chinese brocoli (a must,) and also came with a clear tofu spinach soup that was tasty for a clear broth style soup. The lychee drink was the canned variety and very sweet.

The food is ok. I ordered the Pad See Ew. Once it arrived I realize that they gave me Pad Thai. I called and they redelivered my entree, but there was no broccoli or the extra egg I requested in the dish. Once I got past not really getting what I wanted, the food was eh...
I will probably never order hear again, because of the experience.

Very good. Consistent and well flavored.

This is not Thai food. It tastes like bad greasy Chinese food. There is no way that the positive reviews are from actual customers - the restaurant is clearing padding the ballot. I have never reviewed a place before on Seamless but this was so positively bad that I had to say something.

Finally a good Thai restaurant in the financial district. I ordered the panang curry with vegetables and tofu and it was very good. Will order from here again. Hope they add summer rolls to the menu though.

The vegetarian dish we ordered had a big chunk of chicken in it... and a hair.
Seamless was understanding and quickly reimbursed us for the order.

Over an hour to deliver (despite showing a 15 minute delivery time) and food arrived completely cold. Will never use again.
